:: From Griffith Park to League City/TX ::

I had the pleasure of running with loved ones over this past Christmas holiday. Ben joined me for a run at my brother's home the morning after Christmas. And then I ran with my cousin, Nicole, in Lafayette.

It was just enough to run off all the crawfish etoufee, red velvet cake, boiled crawfish, turkey/sides, gumbo and beignets that were so delicious.

After a sprained ankle a few weeks ago, I am feeling almost 100% back up-to-speed.

Check out this video I took while running with Ben in Texas.

:: 14 Mile Finish ::

Due to a sprained ankle last week, I was able to do 8 miles with the group and then had to walk the remaining 5 miles. It was still a major accomplishment!

I will be keeping up my maintenance runs this week... between gumbo and crawfish etoufee!

Happy Holidays.

:: 14 miles? 14 miles really? ::

I never thought I would be running 14 miles in one morning! I will be hitting the pavement again this coming Saturday for our next big run.

I am so fortunate to be running for APLA. And the best part is our running pace group. They are such tremendous support. Especially M&M.

If you still want to donate please go here.
Happy Holidays!

:: Lyrics to the song The Climb ::

Songwriters: Alexander, J; Mabe, J

...There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on...

:: Post-Thanksgiving Run Video ::

We ran 5 miles last Saturday. It was a beautiful crisp fall morning. Here's a video I took from the run.

:: The birth of "33 Years in 6 Hours" website ::

I've decided to create a blog to chronicle my personal journey in training for the L.A. AIDS Marathon on March 21, 2010. I will keep this blog updated with news, facts/figures, photos and videos of my journey. The reasoning behind the name is that I am 33 years old and my pace group's goal is to finish the entire 26.2 miles within a 6-hour timeframe. Thank you for taking a ride.
